Its first appearance in adidas’ SPEZIAL line-up, the Blackburn SPZL is inspired and named after the Lancashire town in which Gary Aspden, the capsule’s curator, spent much of his youth. Modelled after the much-loved city series – and built on the Athens tooling – this pair’s silhouette is instantly recognisable as a product of the Three-Stripe, despite its completely new upper pattern and toe box. Dressed in a premium green suede with red leather overlays – in reference to the Lancashire rose – it wears a traditional gold-foil moniker to the side wall and the SPEZIAL logo to the heel tab to complete the look.
