The Air Jordan 1 requires little introduction in the basketball and sneaker world; after all, the shoe marked the first in what would evolve into an iconic legacy, both for Jordan himself and his eponymous brand.

With the latest, named the AJ1 “Element”, Air Jordan heads away from the courts and into the city, giving the shoe a rugged makeover that’s perfect for unforgiving conditions.

Reflective Detailing

The rework marks a first in the history of Jordan: GORE-TEX protection features throughout the sneaker — from the toebox to its inner bootie — to provide maximum protection from unexpected downpours. There are other changes of note, too, with the Swoosh, Wings and GORE-TEX branding all reflective to further the utilitarian approach.
