Celebrating 30 years of Torsion, adidas throws it back to the tech-fuelled ‘80s and puts the stabilising bar back in the line it first called home. Still utilised in performance runners to this day – increasing underfoot stability while allowing the front and rear of the foot to operate and adapt independently – the ZX 5000 was the second style to wear the technology and helped to cement its highly-regarded legacy.

Joining the underfoot Torsion system is a lightweight upper and an external heel cage, with a striking colourway thrown in for good measure, the ZX 5000 was and still is a favourite of serious runners and sneakerheads alike. Thankfully, this iteration sees the Three-Stripes stay true to the OG release, wearing a white and blue colourway to signify its focus on cushioning, highlighting just how advanced the technology was and proving that the ‘80s gave us some incredible sneakers that don’t need to be played with.
