Mihara Yasuhiro is renowned for his avant-garde approach to design, often reworking classic styling from an experimental angle. Take his footwear, for instance, with those signatures warped sole units. Or his apparel, where he often splices together different elements to create unconventional hybrids.
With his latest line, named Instru(men-tal) by Mihara, the Japanese designer switches up the usual approach. Experimentalism is eschewed for something far more pared back, with fabrics, silhouettes and comfort made the priority.
The collection ranges from wardrobe staples like tees and hoodies to more classic garments like knitted jumpers, cardigans and Oxford shirts. Each one is made in Japan using premium materials, then cut to an oversized fit and branded with the line’s spec-like patches.
