END TALKS: AN EVENING WITH JACQUES CHASSAING, JASON COLES & GARY ASPDEN AT END. MANCHESTER

As part of END. Talks, an ongoing series where we invite cultural luminaries to discuss thoughts and ideas, END. invited Jason Coles, Jacques Chassaing and Gary Aspden to END. Manchester for an in-depth discussion. The evening represented a celebration of Coles and Chassaing's Rizzoli publication, “From Soul to Sole”, with Gary Aspden — adidas expert, brand consultant and the creative force underpinning adidas SPEZIAL — joining in the festivities.
The discussion formed part of The Three Stripes ‘SPEZIAL F.C.’ exhibition in the city across 18th-27th November, with the three sitting down to share their collective, decades-spanning experience and knowledge with those in attendance.
The evening represented a discussion centred around the minutiae of design, tapping into Jacques Chassaing’s approach to lasting sneaker designs, designing with the athlete in mind and the art of balancing footwear aesthetics with function. Integral to all three are history and the impacting legacy of adidas, with the conversation delving into topics ranging from creating a brand legacy to honouring the iconic codes and history of adidas. To round off the evening, the three shared their visions for the future of adidas and the world of sneaker design.
