NEW BALANCE X ACTION BRONSON 990 V6 “LAPIS LAZULI” – REGISTER NOW

Action Bronson is a multihyphenate who can seamlessly transition between creative outlets and excel in each of them, ranging from his critically acclaimed albums to his world-renowned TV shows. Unsurprisingly, the world of sneakers is no exception to that, as his latest partnership with New Balance evidences.

It’s a rework of the 990 v6 dubbed “Lapis Lazuli”, channelling the creative’s longlasting love of both the sneaker and the brand itself. The sneaker is transformed using various shades of blue which appear throughout, worked into its premium suede and mesh uppers and its chunky, predominantly yellow midsole. The laces are reworked, too, replaced with yellow and red, hiking-derived versions, while the tongue comes detailed with “Baklava”, nodding to one of the multihyphenate’s monikers.

“This shoe is aesthetically pleasing with every line drawn. Every little edge. The fluorescents that are hitting me from every angle. I see 15 different blues on there using only 7 blues. This is like a mineral that's been forming over millions and millions of years and has finally just been released through chisel. It's been unchiselled from the depths of the rock.
