20 July 2023New Balance and Stone Island continue their ongoing partnership with the technical Concept_1.
New Balance and Stone Island are two labels rooted in innovation, constantly striving to explore the possibilities of form and function in their respective fields. Their ongoing collaboration showcases a celebration of this shared sensibility, fusing their creative visions to create cutting-edge footwear.
Following on from their last collaboration, a rework of the ever-iconic 574 with inspiration drawn from Stone Island’s archives, the two labels turn their attention to an all-new silhouette, dubbed the Concept_1. Much like their take on the RC Elite, the approach taken is futuristic and technical. The uppers are made from a breathable mesh material with a camo pattern throughout, as well as detailed with toggle laces and a compass logo at the heel. The sole unit, meanwhile, demands just as much attention: it’s chunky and wavy, utilising carbon fibre and fuel cell technology for support and energy return.
