Maison Margiela and Reebok are no stranger to a collaboration. And nor are they unfamiliar with experimental takes on footwear icons, either. Their latest link up, then, follows tradition. It’s the Classic Leather that’s the focus again, and just like previous releases, the result is a blend of high fashion and classic sportswear. The smooth leather uppers, Union Jack sidewall window and terry lining remain as they always do, though the toe is where the biggest switch up is — it’s split right down the middle, just like the fashion house’s iconic Tabi boot that debuted on the runway in 1988. There’s a neutral hue that appears throughout, too, and both labels’ respective branding worked into the tongues.
