Collaborating with Moncler Genius sees Palm Angels creative director Francesco Ragazzi’s career come full circle – the designer started out at the luxury outerwear brand before going to set up his streetwear label. Here, he shows his reverence for Moncler’s illustrious heritage, taking what is arguably its most iconic output – the quilted down jacket – and giving it an injection of Palm Angels irreverence. With its black, wet-look shell and oh-so-slick pared-back styling, the storm-proof coat is a cut above in the style stakes, not to mention performance level. Lined with royal purple satin-weave nylon, it is marked at the back with a giant leather Moncler patch in contrasting white and displays Palm Angels’ subcultural sensibilities with a row of spiked studs, finishing the look off to punk rock perfection.
