With the latest versions of the Dunk High, Nike pays tribute to the sneaker’s ‘80s heritage, covering their uppers in a bold, acid-wash effect.
The 1980s will forever be wrapped up in the identity of Nike’s Dunk, with the sneaker debuting halfway through the decade with its iconic launch campaign: “Be True To Your School”. The latest versions of that fan-favourite sneaker, two reworks of the Dunk High, lean in on the shoe’s symbolism as an ‘80s icon.
The shoes come in two colourways — one black and yellow, the other red and blue — with both detailed with an acid-wash effect for a not-so-subtle nod to the sneaker’s 80s heritage.
To further the of-the-era look, they’re cut to the original shape that debuted in 1985 — with a modified collar and a heel that slightly protrudes — then finished with an aged, two-tone sole to really drive home the retro aesthetic.
