8 January 2024Following a win in the second round of adidas' Consortium Cup, the END. x adidas Centennial Lo "Present" sneaker lands this month.
Following its victory in the second round of adidas’ inaugural Consortium Cup, END. revisits its contributing sneaker, the Centennial Lo “Present”. Following the END. and adidas’ Samba “Past” last year, the Centennial Lo “Present” represents a step into the now, emphasising the need for sustainable, bio-degradable materials to be incorporated into footwear design.
The Centennial Lo is given a complete overhaul, with the basketball-derived silhouette cast through a stripped back and eco-minded lens. For the sneaker’s construction, a plethora of sustainable materials are employed, with the uppers crafted from vegan, bio-coated leather, the laces made using organic cotton and the insole made using cork. Seersucker cotton is used to further elevate the sneaker, subtly worked into the tongues and three stripes for added detail.
In terms of the visuals, things are kept understated and refined, pairing creamy off-white tones with dark green accents. The details are of note, too, with co-branded patches at the tongues, “Present” in cursive gold foil at the sidewalls and a custom graphic at the heels — depicting the world cradled in a pair of hands to drive home the eco-minded theme.
