KAWS and The North Face partner for the first time to create the “XX KAWS” collection: a seamless fusion of contemporary art and performance outerwear.
When it comes to KAWS, diversity plays an enormous part in his creative output. The Brooklyn-based artist draws from multiple sources to inspire his work, blurring the lines of distinction between artwork and a slew of other disciplines ranging anywhere from fashion to music.
This season, the legendary artist partners with The North Face for their inaugural collection, celebrating the fusion of contemporary artwork and performance outerwear. An array of The North Face’s signature garments are transformed in the collection, providing the perfect canvas for KAWS’ bold and vibrant aesthetic.
The collection includes key pieces from The North Face’s archives — like the 1996 Nupste, the 1986 Mountain jacket and Basecamp duffle bag — which are covered in KAWS’ abstract patterns in a riot of rainbow hues, with some constructed using contrasting panels to drive home the look. To complete the collaborative look, each piece is detailed with co-branded logos, teaming KAWS’ signature ‘XX’ motif with The North Face’s iconic Half Dome logo.
The North Face x KAWS "XX KAWS" collection launches at END. on the 17th February.
