Moncler takes an eclectic approach to design for SS22, forgoing rulebooks for something much bolder and more diverse.
Moncler was founded in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, a mountain village near Grenoble. The environment the label was founded in set the tone for what Moncler was — and still is — all about: performance outerwear.
For SS22, the label borrows from a wide array of sources, nodding to everything from motorsport to far-flung tropical destinations. Moncler’s usual technical, mountain-focused approach is clear to see throughout the collection; down-filled nylon remains a key feature — for warmth whether you're heading into the city or tackling the slopes — while reflective details are used in abundance to ensure visibility.
The collection showcases a contrasting approach when it comes to the colours and patterns used: some pieces take on subtle, earth-like tones, while others are vibrant and covered in bold, tropical-inspired patterns.
