10 February 2023New Balance and Montreal-based JJJJound reunite to turn their attention to the iconic Made in UK 991.
Montreal-based moodboard-turned-design-studio, JJJJound, has continuously captured the sneaker zeitgeist in recent years, working alongside industry heavyweights to create a slew of coveted releases. Its ongoing partnership with New Balance is the driving force behind this collaborative output, with the two coming together to offer refined takes on the label's icons.
The attention has predominantly been on New Balance’s Made in US range, though the two now come together to spotlight the Made in UK and its flagship offering: the 991. The result is a refined, tasteful take on the legendary sneaker, utilising the same earthy tones seen on previous link ups throughout its premium suede and mesh uppers. The rest is left relatively untouched, save for JJJJound’s namesake branding detailed at each heel to complete the understated look. The sneaker arrives in a duo of sizes, with both men's and women's available.
