New Balance and WTAPS partner for the first time this season, creating a refined version of the American-made 992 that’s informed by both brands’ visual sensibilities. The premium uppers – built with a combination of pigskin suede and mesh – team the two brands’ signature colours of olive dab and grey and are replete with reflective details for that typical ‘00s runner look. A flash of military orange on the dual-tech midsole, borrowed from the iconic MA1 bomber jacket, is joined by subtle WTAPS branding on the heel and tongue to complete the collaborative aesthetic.
