Sydney-born Song for the Mute, or SFTM as it’s commonly known, operates as the antithesis to convention, forgoing the established codes of fashion for something much more disruptive and provocative. Through a liberal application of colour, texture and shape, SFTM shirks the conventions of design to create product rooted in innovation and progression.
The label’s ongoing partnership with adidas is a reflection of this ethos, taking the familiar and distorting it into something new and unique. This time around it’s the Campus 80s that’s brought under the spotlight, transformed in a way that mirrors SFTM’s penchant for experimentalism. The sneakers, which arrive in both black and white colourways, are reworked with a bevy of unconventional details, like frayed canvas uppers, exaggerated eyelets and contrast stitching.
