FREDDIE GIBBS & RICK ROSS - "ICE CREAM"
Freddie Gibbs and Rick Ross continue their ongoing partnership with “Ice Cream”: a track that reflects both rappers' hard-hitting approaches to hip-hop. The release sees Gibbs and Ross trade verses against an upbeat instrumental, which is sampled from Raekwon’s eponymous track released in 1995.
GUCCI MANE, KEY GLOCK & YOUNG DOLPH - "BLOOD ALL ON IT"
With Gucci Mane’s fourth release of the year, “Blood All on It”, the Atlanta-based rapper brings Key Glock and the late Young Dolph on board. The release leans in on the trap sound synonymous with all three artists, with a dark, bass-heavy instrumental paired with gritty lyrics.
KERRI CHANDLER – LOST & FOUND EP VOL. 1
Kerri Chandler digs deep into his archives to release “Lost & Found”: a four-track EP that, as the name implies, was recorded and never released during the ‘90s and ‘00s. The project epitomises Chandler’s soulful, texture-rich approach to house music, with four deep and melodic tracks geared towards the dancefloor.
JACK J - "I SAW FIRE"
Ahead of Jack J’s forthcoming album, “Opening the Door”, the Mood Hut co-founder teases his debut full-length release with “I Saw Fire”. The track combines downtempo percussion with soothing pads, melodic, Balearic-like strings and mellow vocals, creating a relaxing track perfect for the upcoming warmer months.
PLASTIKMAN & CHILLY GONZALES - "CONSUMED IN KEY"
Richie Hawtin builds upon his seminal 1998 work “Consumed” with “Consumed in Key”, inviting pianist Chilly Gonzales to instinctively react — and find space within — his already completed work. Gonzales makes use of the album’s unique timing structure, interspersing negative space with accompanying piano pieces for each track.
