Clarks and Hender Scheme come together this season, celebrating their shared love of premium craft with a two-piece capsule.
Since founding Hender Scheme in 2010, Ryo Kashiwazaki has developed a clear focus for the label: to uphold the traditions of artisanal craft methods and prioritise the use of premium materials. Mass production is eschewed for something much slower, connected and considered — an approach embodied by the luxurious leather goods the label produces.
That approach of maintaining traditional craft methods and carefully selecting high-quality materials is something integral to Clarks Originals — a mutual love that’s brought to the forefront of the label's inaugural collaboration with Hender Scheme.
The two come together to rework the British heritage label’s famous Desert Boot, with two classic colourways of sand and black. Echoing that shared passion for elevated materials, each one is constructed using plush suede sourced from famous Leeds-based tannery, C.F. Stead. They’re reworked with stitched seams at the toes, too, in a peace symbol-like shape to mirror Kashiwazaki’s penchant for the fine details.
