Since day one, Canada Goose has been fuelled by a relentless desire for technical innovation. The label’s testing ground, after all, is the Arctic — outerwear must be fit for purpose to meet its harsh environment, with warmth, comfort and durability paramount.

With the label’s X-Ray collection, it isn’t just the construction that’s developed in line with the Arctic — the colour palette and materials are inspired by the shifting form of icebergs. The label’s iconic outerwear is reworked using translucent materials, with blues, greens and whites reflecting the jewel-like tones prevalent in the Arctic.

The label’s Chilliwack bomber — originally designed for pilots working on Arctic runways — is reworked in translucent Cordura®, while the Snow Mantra parka — which is field tested in the coldest places on earth — is transformed using the same material. The Freestyle vest, meanwhile, is based heavily on the Mantra Parka, only it’s cut from the collection’s translucent Cordura® and reworked to make it lighter and more city focused.
