Back in the 1990s, The North Face released the Search & Rescue collection, with key fundamentals underpinning it. Firstly, it needed to be bright, so to allow teams to be visible when traversing mountains hazed by snow or cloud. Secondly, it had to capable of withstanding harsh conditions, meaning comfort, durability and technology were paramount.

The collection includes two key pieces of outerwear, with the Dryvent™ jacket offering weatherproof protection and the down-filled jacket for superior warmth. A bold shade of red is used throughout the collection, too, to nod to the original line’s vibrant, visibility-enabling colours.
