11 July 2022Landing for the first time, New Balance’s collaboration with Donald Glover – otherwise known as Childish Gambino – combines a natural colour palette with retro running aesthetics.
Renowned for his ability as an actor, rapper and all-round creative force, Donald Glover has spread his wings further into the world of sneaker collaborations in recent years. Teaming up with New Balance this time round, the American multi-hyphenate presents a duo of RC30 sneakers.
RUBBER OUTSOLE
Distilling the model’s retro runner flavour, a precise colour palette offers a quiet charm and sophistication with the silhouette rendered in “Sea Salt” and “Golden Hour” respectively. A rugged, sculptural outsole introduces an unconventional element to the sneaker’s shape, while mesh and hairy suede uppers offer a balanced textural composition.
SUEDE & MESH UPPERS
Finished with New Balance’s signature low-key branding, Donald Glover keeps himself out of the limelight, refraining from embellishing the sneaker with any branding of his own.
