YMC Womens Cargo Shorts

Founded in 1995 by creative partners Jimmy Collins and Fraser Moss, YMC takes its name — and its guiding principle — from industrial designer Raymond Loewy’s line: “You must create your own design style.” It’s both a mission statement and an open invitation to wearers to carve out their own aesthetic. From the outset, the label has drawn on workwear and military influences, reworking those foundations into something thoughtful, functional and quietly expressive.

YMC Women’s carries that ethos through every collection. Creative but understated, each piece is designed to last — the kind of clothing that earns its place in your wardrobe through considered details and easy wearability. A YMC sweatshirt, for example, pulls from a mix of subcultural references without ever feeling overdone; familiar silhouettes, made modern with smart, subtle shifts.

With more than 30 years of experience behind it, the brand continues to refine its approach, creating YMC women’s clothing that feels directional but remains easy to wear — from everyday knits to relaxed outerwear and simple essentials.

Following the passing of co‑founder Fraser Moss, Sage Toda‑Nation stepped in as YMC’s second creative director in 2024. Working closely with Collins, he has revisited the label’s early blueprint, reviving heritage ideas and reworking them for today with a fresh, forward‑looking eye.
