This winter sees Timex – a heritage brand with over 160 years of watchmaking experience – and online publisher championing creativity, 'It’s Nice That' join forces.
The duo has teamed up to releases a new watch that updates a military classic from 1982 with a positive and contemporary twist, all whilst maintaining its lightweight feel and utilitarian aesthetic.
The It’s Nice That x Timex - Nice Time Guaranteed MK1’s face boasts a brand new typeface designed by independent foundry Camelot – based in Leipzig, Germany – who drew inspiration from letterforms found on archive watches. This custom font brings together the creative histories of both of these brands with a hand-rendered quality, an approach evident in much of the work commissioned by It’s Nice That throughout its ten-year history.
“We wanted to bring our tone, to put a smile on people’s faces when they looked at it,” explains art director Ali Hanson, who has designed the Resin MK1 watch – a piece that sums up the core values of It’s Nice That and the longevity of Timex’s quality products.
Housed in a durable 36mm resin case, boasting a Japanese Quartz movement and 30-meter water resistance, this custom piece is complete with a comfortable black nylon strap and is made to be treasured for many years to come.
As a final touch, a written tongue-in-cheek message in the form of a sunny roundel completes the watch with a positive pledge to each person who wears it: ‘Nice Time Guaranteed’ – a phrase inspired by It’s Nice That’s tone and the experience of its dedicated readers.
