MONCLER GENIUS X SALEHE BEMBURY: Humanising Luxury
14 July 2023For the latest instalment of Moncler Genius, the pioneering outerwear label taps into Salehe Bembury for a collection rooted in celebrating the connection between people and nature.
As part of Moncler’s Genius collection, a platform for co-creation between different creative worlds, Moncler and Salehe Bembury unite through a deep appreciation for outdoor heritage and innovation. The collection is centred around humanising luxury, offering a take on outdoor apparel that explores palette, shape and utility, all underscored by Salehe Bembury's signature thumbprint. “This campaign is a dialogue about humanizing luxury. At the centre of the collection is Salehe’s much-anticipated take on the ultra-innovative Trailgrip, dubbed the Grain: a transformation of the sneaker utilising thumbprint quilting and earth-inspired palettes of organic green, orange and pastel taupe hues. Alongside the footwear in the collection is an array of apparel and accessories titled Moncler ēquipements, which is heavily inspired by Moncler’s archival mountaineering line from the late 1950s. A shared passion for the wilderness forms the collection’s colour palette, where burnt oranges, sunset corals, moss greens and muted browns transport you to an afternoon spent on the trails. “Moncler ēquipements is an exploration of palette, shape, and utility. As to be expected from both Moncler and Salehe Bembury, the collection represents an exploration into both form and utility, with quilted baffles merging with Bembury’s “grain” thumbprint across padded outerwear, vests and lighter layers. Elsewhere, the emphasis on functionality continues, with collarless puffer jackets detailed with practical utility pockets, GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ parkas and teddy fleeces all being present in the collection.
