Rewriting the design lines of the adidas Stan Smith through the OG details of the retro L.A. Trainer, Raf Simons utilises the French technique of trompe l'oeil to create this deceptive take. Translating to ‘deceive the eye’, trompe l'oeil is used masterfully here; laying the L.A. Trainer’s iconic uppers over the court-fuelled Stan Smith, creating the perfect combination of two adidas originals. Down to the look of the serrated sole and the L.A.’s midsole plugs, this Stan Smith has undergone a major transformation.
