Salehe Bembury teams up with Crocs to rework the classic Clog, transforming it from an experimental and technical angle.
Salehe Bembury’s approach to footwear is one that well and truly colours outside of the lines, with the designer taking classic designs and transforming them into something new, experimental and yet often with a hint of the familiar.
With his inaugural collaboration with Crocs, the designer taps into that approach, honouring the footwear label’s heritage while also steering things in his usual innovative direction.
The collection consists of two reworks of Crocs’ famous clog — one coloured in green, the other brown — with both moulded using three of Bembury’s fingerprints as inspiration. This results in dramatic, concave ridges that appear throughout each clog — also working to provide multi-directional traction — which are combined with cut-out holes designed to align with high-temperature areas of the foot.
