DESIGN INSIGHTS: The Wilson Sneaker by Cole Buxton

END. paid Cole Buxton a visit at the brand’s London studio, sitting down for a video interview with Cole Buxton and Jonny Wilson ahead of the release of the white, END. exclusive Wilson sneaker.

When you think of Cole Buxton, there are certain things which immediately spring to mind. Sportswear. Artisanal craft. Premium materials. Imposing silhouettes. Meticulous detailing. Fabric treatments. These approaches and tropes culminate in a distinct and unique perspective of menswear, taking elements of time-honoured design and recontextualising these into something familiar, yet equally progressive.

Naturally, their debut sneaker, dubbed the Wilson, would be a product of these deep-rooted sensibilities. It signifies 18 months of relentless refinement and hard work, a symbol of Cole Buxton’s dedication to continuously elevating its product output. The result is a nod to the foundations of Cole Buxton, taking the classic tennis court silhouette and casting it through a luxurious, transformative lens. Each pair is crafted using hand-waxed Italian leather that’s joined to Cole Buxton’s bespoke midsole — chunky, hand-distressed rubber reflecting the brand’s penchant for bold silhouettes. A further nod to the brand’s design pillars comes by way of the laces, which arrive in both white and pink mohair — a fabric quintessential to the brand.

Following on from the sneaker’s debut black and white colourway, END. is exclusively releasing the white Wilson on END. Launches, representing a celebration of the retailer and brand’s long-lasting and harmonious friendship. In light of that, END. paid the brand a visit at its London studio, filming a video interview delving into the design, craftsmanship and determination underpinning its debut sneaker.
