Continuing their fruitful collaborative relationship, Japanese sportswear label ASICS and Bulgarian design maverick Kiko Kostadinov showcase a unique vision of footwear for the 21st Century. Sharing the GEL-Sokat Infinity, the young designer fuses ASICS' technological prowess with his innovative point of view to contort and subvert expectations of contemporary sneaker style.
Inspired by classic basketball sneakers, this mid-top silhouette bridges the gap between performance runner and on-court classic. Detailed with the Sokat's signature translucent 360 GEL midsole, Kostadinov's futuristic outlook is reinforced with ASICS' ability to revolutionise footwear tech. Blending aspects from a variety of archival ASICS sneakers with a wholly modern sensibility, this duo of athletic sneakers encapsulate the esoteric realm in which Kostadinov operates. Drawing inspiration from activewear on an aesthetic and practical level, the GEL-Sokat Infinity borrows elements from the JY600 Dan Gable Ultimate sneaker, a wrestling shoe built for agility.
