Renowned for his utilitarian approach to design and penchant for adapting workwear garments for the modern day, Craig Green’s collaboration with adidas has seen the British designer adapt a variety of unusual silhouettes from the adidas archive. This time round, however, Green looks to an all-time icon – the Stan Smith.
Presenting five renditions of the tennis sneaker, Green subtly transforms three versions of the minimalist shoe with a rubber strip splitting each foot down the middle – a nod to Green’s reconstructive design tendencies. The final two sneakers of the pack see the classic silhouette built entirely from Boost material, delivering a twist on the Stan Smith’s typical smooth leather uppers with a textured finish.
