THE ADIDAS CONSORTIUM CUP ROUND 2 VOTING IS NOW OPEN
23 February 2023For round 2 of adidas’ first-ever Consortium Cup, where the theme is basketball, we’ve cast the Centennial Lo through a stripped-back, eco-minded lens.
As part of adidas’ first-ever Consortium Cup – a sneaker design competition where you choose the winner – we’re going head-to-head with retailers across the globe. Following on from our success in round 1, we’re through to the competition’s quarter finals and second round, with the next theme being basketball.
The overall theme of END.’s approach is centred around the past, present and future of fabric applications in footwear, with the emphasis of this round on the present and the need for sustainable, bio-degradable materials. Delving into that theme, the sneaker is reworked using a plethora of eco-minded materials, ranging from organic cotton at the shoelaces to its uppers crafted from vegan, bio-coated leather. In terms of the colourway, things are kept subtle and stripped back, with shades of off-white accented with hits of dark green.
