30 October 2024Stone Island presents its latest material innovation, Glass Cover, available in-store at END. Manchester.
Since the beginning, Stone Island’s approach to materials has consistently sat at the razor’s edge of garment innovation. This season is no exception, as the brand continues its relentless experimentation with garment construction and treatments. Case in point is the latest from the brand’s Autumn Winter ‘024 ‘025 collection: a parka constructed using the Glass Cover material, as modelled by long-time Stone Island affiliate and musical icon, Liam Gallagher.
The fabric is a reflection of Stone Island’s continual use of transparency and mesh in their material research. It’s constructed using a polyester mesh protected by a semi-gloss transparent polyurethane film, that’s moderately wind and rainproof, which is garment dyed to create an effect that mimics a layer of liquid glass underneath. The Glass Cover coat in Biscotto is produced in extremely limited quantities, with approximately 50 units worldwide and a handful of global stockists. The boundary-pushing jacket will be available to purchase in store only at END. Manchester in limited numbers.
