Often credited as the pulse of the global menswear industry, the biannual exhibition Pitti Uomo sees some of the best in sartorial style descend on the storied streets of Florence, Italy.
Following on from our coverage of the best in class street style in Florence this season, we take stock of the sneaker styles which have been pounding the cobblestones at the Fortezza de Basso.
Transformed into Swoosh City, the Florentine style elite and their international visitors penned a love letter to Nike with key silhouettes and collaborations new and old reigning supreme across the board. Vibrant reissues of Virgil Abloh's 'The Ten' appeared with the Volt iteration of the AF1 and the Fuschia take on the Zoom Fly both stealing the spotlight, while the tech-heavy ISPA take on the React Runner appeared in myriad colourways.
Although Balenciaga's Triple S was represented, the swing back towards tactical and aero-dynamic footwear styles which we saw in London continues - driving the question: is this the death of the dad sneaker?
