15 June 2022Burberry and Pop Trading Company join forces for the first time, with a collection that spotlights their shared love of community and outdoors.
With their inaugural collection, Pop Trading Company and Burberry come together to celebrate their shared love of community and the outdoors. The collection taps into the Amsterdam-based brand’s connections to global skate subcultures, shining a spotlight on Japan and its skate scene that comes alive when night falls.
The collection is designed to reference a sense of freedom and movement through the city when skating after dark — where restrictions are in place during daytime — with Burberry’s iconic Check cast in shades of grey, black and red and then blurred to reflect nighttime cityscapes. Furthering the references, reflective detailing plays a key part in the collection — a further nod to moving through the city during nighttime and experiencing sights and senses along the way.
The collection’s bespoke blurred Check colourway appears on an array of elevated garments, ranging from technical parkas and silk shirts to cargo pants and crossbody bags. Reflective details are used heavily throughout the collection, too, from car coats covered in all-over Check to co-branded logos.
