Channeling iconic styles of 80s hip-hop.
Connecting the dots between the hip-hop's New York birthplace and the contemporary Tokyo that the esteemed retailer calls home, United Arrows & Sons and adidas Originals join forces once again to present their sophomore collection for Autumn/Winter 2018.
Channeling the era of 'the four elements': b-boys and graffiti, MCs and turntables, the collection is a playful-yet-considered nod to 80s hip-hop, borrowing the distinct style of the era to present a full range of reworked Three Stripe classics.
Utilising the work of Tokyo graffiti artist WANTO at its core, the collection is identified by the artist's hand drawn trefoil logo that emulates the subway-bombing style of 80s New York, which lends a charismatic DIY feel.
The range itself is a timeless affair, with a range of jackets, tracksuits, tees and sweats packed full of refined and progressive details and bookended by reworks on duo of adidas archival favourites - the Ultra Star and the Rivalry Lo.
The Rivalry Lo features Italian snakeskin-printed leather detailing, flat laces and an all-black backdrop for WANTO's graphic, whilst the Ultra Star maintains the shell toe and silhouette that became synonymous with Run DMC, but is modernised by way of advanced materials such as knitted uppers and a BOOST midsole.
