29 April 2022With the latest Dunk Low from Nike, the Beaverton brand reworks the iconic sneaker with inspiration borrowed from the avocado.
Nike is no stranger to looking to the culinary world when it comes to footwear, with a list of grail-worthy, food-inspired sneakers coming from the Beaverton brand. The Air Max 90 “Bacons” that debuted in 2004, for instance, or the Ben & Jerry’s Dunk Lows from 2020, to name a few.
Wear-Away Uppers
With the latest Dunk Low, Nike looks to the food world for inspiration once again, reworking the fan-favourite sneaker with inspiration taken from everyone’s favourite breakfast accompaniment, avocado.
Nutritional Information
The sneaker’s dark green uppers mimic the outer shell of the avocado, which fade away to reveal a lighter shade of green that resembles the fruits inner. Other playful details include avocado-like branding at the mudguard, as well as nutritional info worked into the tongues.
