Inspired by the processes and prototypes before the final product.
Drawing reference to the experimentalism and unpredictability seen in the world of early-stage sneaker prototypes, adidas Consortium presents the UltraBOOST Midproto.
Featuring a range of asymmetric features across the coupling - a process used for comparative decision making in the design process - the UltraBOOST Midproto embraces the spirit of experimentation.
Built with fully Primeknit uppers, in one of the season's most coveted hues - neon yellow - the sneaker features luxe suede overlays and contrast detailing for maximum curb appeal. A sock-fit silhouette, this sneaker is elevated with the use of an extra-thick ribbed ankle collar and a signature TPU heel stabilizer which borrows style codes for the OG UltraBOOST 1.0. The shoe is finished with a minimalist lacing system, Consortium tongue tab, and a woven herringbone heel pull.
In keeping with the shoe’s prototypical inspirations, each shoe features a different colourway; for the left shoe, the Neon Yellow base is countered with Collegiate Navy suede overlays and printed white 3-stripes marks; the right foot then features Grey suede overlays with navy leather 3-stripes marks. This duplicity of colours and style details looks set to become an emerging trend on the international sneaker scene, slated for release just a few days after the Nike x Skepta 97/BW made waves for its dual red and blue colour story.
The adidas Consortium UltraBOOST Midproto will launch at END. on May 26th.
