For James Whitner’s A Ma Maniére, collaborations form something much more deeper and personal, with storytelling and culture woven throughout each of the boutique’s partnerships. It’s an approach that underpins the Atlanta-based retailer and Air Jordan's ongoing relationship, with their latest link up being no exception.
The collaboration is inspired by Black leaders changing the world from the heart of their community, as well as the promise of youth to be the catalyst for positive change in the world. It’s something that’s referenced in the text detailed at the inside of the heel counters, with “It’s not about the shoes” at one and “it’s about where you’re going” at the other. As always with A Ma Maniére, the approach taken is elevated and luxurious, reflecting the curation and interior design that’s signature to the retailer. Premium nubuck covers the uppers of the shoe in a shade of “Violet Ore”, while the lining is quilted to further reflect the meticulousness James Whitner is renowned for.
