Following on from “Lido” in 2019, END. and Diadora partner for the third time to create “Limoncello & Grappa”: a two-piece collection inspired by two iconic Italian liquors. The collection is made up of two iterations of the V7000, marking the second time END. has reworked the sneaker.
Coming from the Diadora 1990 running catalogue, the V7000 was devised to be the ideal solution for middle-distance competitions. Flexible and lightweight, it was the ideal trainer for fast runners looking for a reactive shoe. While its technology may be surpassed, the V7000 is still a favourite among sneaker connoisseurs more than 30 years on, thanks to its incredibly balanced silhouette and sharp lines.
In these two new iterations, END. played with the idea of classic Italian liqueurs “Grappa” and “Limoncello”, the former coming from the same area of Italy as Diadora. Hailed as the most iconic of northern Italian liqueurs, the “Grappa” style pays homage to the fruit it is derived from: grape, and as such it is covered in a light green shade. The “Limoncello” version is coloured predominantly in its namesake liqueur’s vibrant, lemon-yellow hue.
Both sneakers retain their elevated materials and artisanal quality, with each one handmade in Italy using a premium combination of buttery-smooth leather and velvety suede. To further the references to Grappa and Limoncello, each shoe comes with a custom pattern worked into their insoles — lemons on one, grapes on the other — as well as embroidery at the heels that reference their respective fruits. Each pair comes housed in a bespoke shoebox printed with lemons and grapes, too, as well as a co-branded shot glass to complete the capsule’s homages.
The END. x Diadora V7000 “Limoncello” & “Grappa” capsule will launch online via END. Lauches on April 2nd.
