26 September 2023Diving into their ‘00s archives for inspiration, Nike look to a Japan-exclusive Air Max 1 for inspiration.
Initially released almost twenty years ago in 2004, Nike’s ‘Urawa Away’ Air Max 1 sneaker was a limited-edition Japanese exclusive make-up that paid homage to the away football kit of the Urawa Red Diamonds team. Collaborating with Nike once again, the J League team offer up an interpretation of the Saitama side’s away kit.
Cast in a Platinum, White, Black & Red combination, the iconic Air Max sneaker is constructed with leather and textile uppers, with black mesh contrasting the silhouette’s crisp white Swoosh branding and vibrant red air bubbles. To the heel, Dragon crests complete the make-up, adding a further nod to the Urawa side and their previous collab with the Beaverton sportswear brand.
