YEEZY dips into the archives with the latest Boost 700, borrowing inspiration from the OG for its colourway.
Kanye West’s eponymous YEEZY line is renowned for having a distinctive design code: neutral hues, cutting-edge technology and bold aesthetics. The YEEZY Boost 700, though, is somewhat of an anomaly.
It’s not because of the tech — there’s full-length boost™ cushioning in the sole for superior comfort and support. And it’s not in terms of the looks, either — the chunky, “dad” shoe-like aesthetic may be inspired by a different era than usual, but it’s just as bold as you’d expect from ‘Ye.
With the latest version, dubbed “Wash Orange”, the multihyphenate leans in on that seminal style. Shades of grey, teal and black are used across their sporty panelled uppers — in a way not too dissimilar from the fan-favourite OG, the “Wave Runner” — then joined to a chunky, boost™-cushioned sole that’s coloured in bright orange.
