Nike takes a bold approach with the latest women’s Dunk Low, mismatching its uppers with various animal-inspired overlays.
Since first debuting in 1985, Nike’s Dunk has seen vast array of reworks, some of them bold, some of them subtle. With the latest, a Low women’s version of the iconic sneaker, it’s the former that’s leant in on heavily.
The sneaker pays reference to past releases with its array of materials and patterns, though it’s mismatched in a way that’s experimental, unfamiliar and new; the white leather uppers are overlaid with a slew of contrasting panels, ranging from Safari-patterned leather to vibrant hairy suede.
The tongue patches are switched out for retro branding, too — furthering the unconventional appearance — though the classic, two-tone sole unit remains untouched.
