An ‘80s icon, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid returns this season, bringing its retro details to the fore across a duo of eye-catching colourways. Constructed with a metallic finish across the two styles’ overlays, jewel Swoosh branding to the side wall pays homage to 40 years of the Air Force 1 while an old-school ankle strap further entrenches the model within a vintage sensibility.

Introduced in 1982, the Air Force 1 sneaker was an influential silhouette that rewrote the basketball footwear rulebook as the first basketball sneaker to feature Nike Air cushioning. Taking the model from the hardcourt to the street, the Air Force 1 continues to remind us of the unquantifiable influence basketball has had on the cultivation of street culture throughout the course of the past 40 years.

Offering up an Americana throwback, the first style is cast in a combination of red, white and blue in a nod to the American national holiday – Independence Day – while the second nods to Nike’s history, cast in an Ale Brown and orange pairing that looks back to Nike’s original shoebox design.
