29 September 2022Returning with an aquatic interpretation of the already iconic collaborative clog, Crocs and Salehe Bembury continue their journey with their abstract silhouette.
Modelled on Salehe Bembury’s own fingerprints, the designer extraordinaire has reunited with Crocs to deliver a dazzlingly sculptural take on the legendary brand’s clog shoe, creating a charmingly absurd and experimental footwear offering rendered in a vibrant blue hue.
Dubbed the ‘Pollex’ – after the innermost digit on a human’s limb – Bembury’s penchant for experimentation has culminated in a unique visual aesthetic, one that champions the abstraction of the familiar. Created from moulded EVA foam utilising forms from three of the designer’s fingertips, reflected in the clog’s recognisable ridges, holes are carefully positioned throughout to ensure the high-heat areas of the foot are adequately cooled.
