Aries and Clarks Originals join forces for the first time with Desert Trip: a two-piece collection that brings footwear icons under Aries’ non-conformist lens. Since being founded in 2012, Aries is a name that’s been cutting through the noise with its disruptive approach to fashion, channelling a love for counterculture and merging this with a penchant for dyeing, printing and premium garment construction.
With the London-based label’s collection with Clarks Originals, the two walk the line between extra-terrestrial and nostalgic, imagining the footsteps of a group of explorers embarking on a journey that distorts time and terrain. The result is two psychedelic takes on Clarks Originals classics, with the Wallabee and Desert Trek reworked from an unconventional angle.
The first, the Wallabee, features a maple suede upper which is reworked with a hair-on vamp, while that famous crepe rubber arrives detailed with a red, swirling pattern that nods to the psychedelic theme of the partnership. The out-there approach transfers to the Desert Trek, too, which features brush stroke-effect suede across its uppers and a vibrant shade of purple worked into its crepe rubber sole. Each shoe arrives with bespoke, co-branded fobs and beaded laces, too, to really drive home the experimental look.
The Clarks Originals x Aries "Desert Trip" collection will launch via END. Launches on the 9th July.
