12 October 2022With the latest in adidas’ iconic City Series line, the label heads to northeastern Italy to revive the much-loved Triest sneaker.
adidas’ City Series represents one of the most coveted lineages not just in adidas’ history, but the sneaker world in general. Since it started in the 1950s, adidas’ City Series has represented a continuous love letter to cities around the globe, with sneakers inspired by the cultural milieu of iconic locations.
This season, adidas taps into the archives with the latest from its City Series — as the label so often does — heading to the northeastern Italian port city of Trieste this time, reissuing its namesake sneaker that originated in 1978. The sneaker itself takes on that typical, terrace-focused aesthetic associated with adidas’ City Series, with a low-cut shape, T toebox and serrated three stripes. The colourway mirrors that of the original, with cream tones across the uppers and brown worked into the three stripes, heel and sole. Where things differ is with the model designation at the sidewalls — it’s rendered in a dark green hue, rather than the original silver.
