Stone Island’s SS22 collection is a celebration of four decades of textile innovation, with the label’s latest video exemplifying that expertise.
2022 marks 40 years since Massimo Osti founded Stone Island — four decades in which the label has pushed the envelope of textile innovation, blazing trails through a steadfast commitment to experimentation and utilitarian design. For SS22, Stone Island really focuses in on that, creating a collection that showcases the label’s 40-year-long position at the cutting edge.
The collection, which is outlined in the video above, is designed with one foot in the archives and the other in the now, evidenced using time-honoured treatments and materials — think thermosensitive pieces and a heavy use of garment dyeing — as well as new and experimental details and patterns. The label’s Marina line is back for another season, too, with hoodies and accessories transformed using a camo-like pattern in shades of blue, white and grey.
