8 September 2023Nike and Drake continue to push boundaries with their NOCTA line, releasing the experimental, archival-inspired Glide sneaker.
Drake and Nike’s ongoing partnership under the coveted NOCTA imprint is one rooted in fusion, taking the sportswear codes of the past and casting them through a contemporary, street-focused lens.
With the latest from Nike and Drake’s NOCTA line, the Canadian rapper continues to pen a love letter to the Swoosh archives, reworking classic design codes to form the unconventional Glide sneaker. It’s heavily inspired by Zoom Flight 95, evidenced in the exaggerated, bulbous sole unit used underfoot. The out-there visuals continue at the uppers, too, with large, carbon fibre-like panelling running down the sidewalls of the sneaker’s mesh uppers, while NOCTA branding is worked into each tongue.
