Under The Surface: Puma x Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen 'Alteration PN-1'

END. travels to Copenhagen to follow Han Kjobenhavn founder, Jannik Wikkelso Davidsen around the streets of his youth which inspired the Puma Alteration PN-1 silhouette

A creative force to be reckoned with, who has broken the boundaries of the Danish design scene to become a key contributor to the international streetwear conversation, Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen of Danish label Han Kjøbenhavn has built a brand and career on the power of telling stories. From art direction to set design to the collections themselves, Jannik's distinctive design identity is predicated on the power of a compelling narrative and the transformative nature of fashion itself.

Tapped by sportswear monolith Puma to design a brand new silhouette for SS19, Jannik embarked on a journey of self-reflection to design his first ever original sneaker. Tapping into his own story, Jannik looked to the forgotten streets of his youth for inspiration; the Copenhagen you rarely see on screen or on the swathe of Scandi-centric lifestyle Instagram feeds which have popped up over the past decade. A grittier urban side of the city with real people, real struggles, and real emotions at its core.

Interested to turn Jannik's penchant for real-world storytelling back on itself, END. and Puma travelled to Copenhagen to meet Jannik on his own turf and visit the parts of the city which inspired the Alteration PN-1. A glimpse behind the curtain of one of Denmark's most subversive creative minds, we visited the forgotten streets of Jannik's youth to see the culture and aesthetics which inspired Puma's latest silhouette first hand, through the eyes of those who know them best.

The Puma x Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen Alteration PN-1 are now available at END.
