Nike and Union LA continue their ongoing partnership this season, turning their attention to the much-loved Dunk Low for the first time.
Since first coming together in 2018, Nike and Union LA have been responsible for a long list of grail-worthy sneakers, representing one of the frontrunners for releases in the collaborative sphere.
Each sneaker serves as an extension of Chris Gibbs’ love of basketball and his penchant for elevated craft, with the latest from the LA-based boutique being no exception to that. The sneaker marks a first for Union LA — a debut on the much-loved Dunk Low — though it showcases a continuation of the b-ball aesthetic so often present with the duo’s link ups. It’s named the “Court Purple”, and forms part of Union LA’s Passport Pack: a collection that tributes the streetwear boutique’s early days of travelling to major cities and hunting for sought-after releases.
They’re coloured in white, purple and yellow — nodding to a famous team native to Union LA’s home city — and completely transformed with a grid patterned, semi-translucent material across the uppers, which can be torn away to reveal premium leather underneath. They’re detailed with Union LA brand tabs and a Walter Lee Younger-inspired logo, too, to nod to Chris Gibbs’ love of the finer details.
