CELEBRATING THE FUTURE OF NIKE’S AIR MAX 97 “SILVER BULLET”
15 November 2022Featuring a shoe swap facilitated by Sole Circle UK & sounds from Interplanetary Criminal and La La, END. hosted an evening in honour of the 25th Anniversary of the Air Max 97 "Silver Bullet" - a milestone of future-facing sneaker design.
Heralding the return of the legendary Christian Tresser designed sneaker, appearing only once every few years, END. hosted a community event at Un.titled Studio, Salford in celebration of the inimitable Nike Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet”. Bringing together the sneaker community of Manchester and offering the opportunity to swap your old Silver Bullet sneakers for a new pair, the evening was laid out to provide sights, sounds and experiences to reflect the impact, cultural legacy and progressiveness that the fabled sneaker represents.
Celebrating the return of the storied sneaker, END. partnered with Sole Circle, a charitable initiative that recycles love worn sneakers in collaboration with UK charity Shoe Aid, offering the chance for attendees to donate their pre-loved pairs of Silver Bullet 97’s in exchange for a fresh pair. Donating them to the young people that need them the most, Sole Circle connects directly with sneaker lovers across the UK in support of their dedicated mission to reduce shoe poverty.
With 2022 marking 25 years of the Silver Bullet, END. looked to the future of the silhouette with an event that championed the uncompromising attitude of the sneaker and the culture that surrounds it. A symbol of Nike’s dedication to challenging the status quo, the Air Max 97 continues to remain a pillar of future facing footwear design, with a bold visual code that was inspired by the ripples of a droplet landing in water.
With music provided by Glasgow’s La La and Manchester’s Interplanetary Criminal, Un.titled Studio was transformed into a futuristic landscape, brimming with progressive aesthetics and cutting edge dance music. Journeying through a world of electronic dance music, from Techno to Bassline, UK Garage and beyond, the myriad of sounds and rhythms provided the perfect soundtrack to take a peek through the looking glass and into the near-future of sneaker culture.
